Your cooperation is important and necessary even before the operation date. Depending on whether you have opted for local anesthesia, treatment under twilight sleep or general anesthesia in advance, the preparatory measures on the day of the operation will differ: if you have local anesthesia, please refrain from drinking coffee, alcohol and nicotine. Meals, on the other hand, can be eaten as normal. For a procedure under general anesthesia or in twilight sleep , you must appear sober. You must refrain from eating, drinking and smoking six hours before the procedure. Please inform us about any medication you regularly take at the preparation appointment. Certain anticoagulant medications may have to be discontinued before the operation. We recommend that you wear loose, comfortable clothing for the implantation.
Behavior before inserting an implant
What can you do to support the healing process of your new dental implant?
- Signed consent for surgery and anesthesia, if applicable
- Treatment documents: laboratory findings, x-rays, temporary dentures
Bear in mind that you are not allowed to drive a car or bicycle or operate machinery or equipment for 24 hours after a general anesthetic/anesthesia. You are also not legally competent. An accompanying person should take you home safely after the operation.
